Went to the local pub with me wife for a wee bit of the bitters. It was a cold night. Bundled up for the rough 3 block walk from the house. Fought the blustery wind, but able to stumble to the bar. 5 seater. Quaint and perfect. Had some prawns with the drinks. Food, drinks, and bartend was good. Thanks for being here for us locals.

We have been to this restaurant 2-3 times over the years when we visit the area. The servers have always been very nice and efficient. The food is just ok. It is slightly cheaper for comparable items at comparable restaurants in the area. On this visit we got the fish and chips and a Cobb/chopped salad with chicken added. The fish and chips was just ok, but is not comparable to what you get in the UK and is definitely more American style. The salad was fresh, came with ample dressing, but absolutely needed the chicken to be a meal. We also got the Flutterby cocktail. It was like a pink lemonade Smirnoff. If you like the Smirnoff version, then you will like this. The amount of alcohol was good and not watered down. It was low to average noise level on our visit and we have not been here when it is noisy. There is outdoor seating with a fire pit and heaters, but we always sit inside because we come in the off season when it is cold. Worth a try for a no frills casual meal if you are in the area and want to pay a little less on the tourist price scale.

We were so hungry that we drop by to have a burger. It was great, quick service and delicious.

My Husband and came to Pacific Grove downtown to enjoy the festivities this weekend.We stopped at the Monarch Pub for lunch. The food was delicious, super chill atmosphere and the staff were so very friendly!!! I definitely enjoyed our lunch here, and I recommend it!!!

Walked over from the Farmers market in central PG to try Monarch for the first time with some friends. We sat outside where there is ample seating. They have heaters for those chilly evenings. We were seated and served promptly. As for the food, I had the fish and chips, a side of curry sauce and an Arnold Palmer (did not get a refill). The fish was good, and the curry sauce was delightful. I appreciate the price point on the meal. I would come back to try the burger.

Went for a work event. Did some exploring. Ended up in Pacific Grove. What a cool beach town. Came across this cool spot! Friendly staff and the pub food is fantastic !

Solid pub grub with patio seating and friendly service. Great place to hang out for a few cold ones with some friends. Whenever I see fried mushrooms in a pub setting, I'm getting them, and these did not disappoint. Buttery, beer battered, and a delicious ranch dressing. We also had some salads and pints. Server, who I believe was the owner, was very personable and quick. We did not go long with empty glasses. My wife enjoyed a couple of their chocolate martinis. Cute corner location in downtown PG. The interior of this establishment is a bit dive-y. There are a lot of options in the Monterey area, but if you're in the mood for some greasy fried delicious goodness and you've caught a day with some sun out, The Monarch is solid!!!
